Has anyone tried these vibration gym machines ? We have a shop that is opening up here shortly, and they say that you can use up to a 1000 calories in a session. That sounds good to me, but has anyone used these and do they work ?
cheers

Yes the good machines work. A bit to well as you tend to get addicted , i was called a snob last time i went back to the gym.
Make sure you get on a vibration training machine, not a lighter machine or nothing will happen. Call up the owner of Vibra-train ( Lloyd ) if you dont know which is which. He will not try to get you to travel to his studios if another good machine is closer.

You can buy them from www.power-plate.co.nz , but why would you want to. The machines dont work. They are total fakes.

Refering to the above statement of Lloyd, is that not true that you were working at the beginning on power plate classic models and you covered their logos with your sticker; vibra gym. Only friendly reminder, talking about fakes ha, ha. I know the competition but lets keep some facts straight, Power Plate is still number one worldwide.

Yes I did change the stickers on my PowerPlate Steel models so no-one would confuse them for the Chinese built plastic models that now have such a bad reputation.
Can you really blame me , considering recent past events I would suggest it was the smartest thing to do.

Power-Plate is definitely not Number 1 in New Zealand. An advertisement I saw a few weeks ago listed only about 8 studios. Seems the rest have either closed down or re-branded as private operators due to lack of support from the Power-Plate parent company and problems with Power-Plate worldwide.
I go to Vibra-Train. It's New Zealand's Number 1 in Vibration Training with machines made in New Zealand, Not in China, and with a safety first program that really works.

I went to VibraFit in Petone (they use Vibro Gym machines) about 3 years ago for quite a while, but I gave up as I actually got bigger. It was most noticeable in my arms and also that muscle between upper bust and underarm area (forget the name). During that time I was also watching my diet and going for regular walks. In the past I have gotten bigger legs from doing certain exercises such has biking up hill and also running (just on the flat). I spoke to Lloyd (online) about my apparent increase in size from the vibration training, and he said that this can happen to some people, I think he said it had to do with your genetic makeup and also hormones. I have read that your testosterone level increases with vibration training and so I think this is what happened to me, as I also noticed facial changes - my jawline area seemed to look different after a while and also the fine hairs on my upper lip seemed to be more noticeable. I guess I might've imagined the facial changes but I know I didn't imagine the body changes as even my husband thought my arms looked bigger. So the vibration training was a big disappointment for me as I was wanting to slim down. However I have not heard of anyone else getting bigger legs/arms etc from vibration training, I have heard of some great results from it in fact, so don't let my story put you off. Vibration training is also supposed to be great for increasing bone density.

It sounds as though you are just prone to putting on muscle no matter what you do. I have a friend like that. But that also means you can burn fat faster than most woman. A curse and a gift. Most woman's muscle just get harder not bigger doing vibration training.
In your case if you keep pushing yourself, then the muscle you create will burn up the fat and then when it runs out of fat it will start to burn up the muscle. Some swimsuit models do this because they need to carry some muscle to hold the shape of a swimsuit.
