Nordic Walking

Hi,

Anyone out there interested in Nordic Walking? I have a fun group that I organise, twice a week training and on a Sunday we Nordic Walk locally on the North Shore.

Its a great sport; I was totally smitten after attending a class at my local college. Its definitely easier on the joints and I was amazed at how much more I could do walking with my poles. I feel healthier and my fitness level is so much better. I was really struggling walking with hip and back pain, now I can keep up my fitness and enjoy my walking again. I'm even entering the Orewa Marathon and the Cathay Pacfic this year, but I won't just be walking I'll be Nordic Walking!

I have over 20 ladies walking now and it would be great if some of the guys took it up; were also struggling for coaches, if you have a Phys Ed background we could do with more instructors.

Look at this website for my details (Walking Group Leader- North Shore Nordic Walkers), there are no fees or subscription to join, I just ask that you've got experience or have attended one of the courses in the Nordic Walking technique and you have your own poles as I don't hire them.

Have a read and have a go, set up your own group, burn more calories than walking and have fun!
